What is Wabi AI?

Wabi AI is a free personal AI assistant designed to be used together with other people. It organises your life into topic threads (solo or shared group chats) and builds mini-apps — trackers, polls, itineraries and widgets — inside the conversation. It was created by Eugenia Kuyda, the founder of Replika, and launched publicly on October 19, 2026.

Is Wabi AI free?

Yes, for now. Wabi is free to download and use on iOS, Android and Mac. The company has said it hasn't settled on a business model yet, so paid tiers may be introduced later.

Who created the Wabi AI app?

Wabi was founded by Eugenia Kuyda, previously the founder of the AI companion app Replika. The developer is Wabi, Inc., which raised a $20 million pre-seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).

Which platforms does Wabi AI support?

iOS, Android and Mac. As of October 2026, no Windows app has been announced.

Is Wabi the same as “Wabi – Virtual Phone Number”?

No. Wabi – Virtual Phone Number (for WhatsApp Business) is an unrelated app from a different developer. The AI assistant's developer is Wabi, Inc.

What is a Wabi mini-app?

A mini-app is a small interactive tool Wabi generates inside a chat thread from your description — for example a weight tracker, a movie-night poll, a trip itinerary or a shared grocery list. Your favourites can be pinned to your phone's home screen as widgets.

Can I use Wabi alone, or only in groups?

Both. Solo threads work like a personal assistant; shared threads add partners, family or friends to the same chat and mini-apps.

What data can Wabi access?

Only what you choose to connect: email, calendar, contacts, location, photos, health data (on Android, read-only via Health Connect) and optionally payment methods or bank accounts. Access is scoped per chat, and members of a chat can see when personal information is requested in it.

Is the latest version called Wabi 3.0?

The product generation is Wabi 2.0 — but the iOS app's build numbers are in the 3.0.x range (the September 28, 2026 App Store update was version 3.0.0; Android builds are numbered 2.0.x). It's the same product; the numbering tracks simply differ.

Is Wabi replacing Replika?

No. Replika continues as an AI companion under Luka, Inc. Wabi is Kuyda's new company and a different product: a practical, multiplayer assistant.

When did Wabi launch?

The original Wabi (a mini-app creation tool) launched in 2025. Wabi 2.0, the AI assistant, rolled out to invited users on September 28, 2026 and opened to everyone on October 19, 2026.

Is there a waitlist for Wabi?

Not anymore. Wabi was invite-only from September 28, 2026; since the public launch on October 19, 2026 anyone can download it and sign up immediately.

What languages does Wabi support?

The App Store listing currently declares English as the app's language. If Wabi adds more languages officially, we'll update this answer — for now, expect an English-first experience.
